The Button Hole, the Hearth Room, Body & Soul, and the Health Food Market are located in beautiful downtown McPherson, Kansas, approximately 1 hour north of Wichita. Located on historic Main Street, these extraordinary shops offer everything from quilting products to a cup of coffee and much, much more.

Today, The Button Hole has over 12,000 bolts of fabrics, and an abundance of notions, trims, patterns, gifts, lotions, jewelry, and much more. Keep in mind that is just the first of four shops occupying this 40,000 square foot shopping experience. The Button Hole even offers online shopping!

Of course, The Button Hole and its shops have not always been the shopping adventure that they are today. In October of 1996, The Button Hole was making its grand opening as a combination crafts and quilt shop in the basement of another McPherson store. The Birkhead Family, owners of The Button Hole, soon realized that the shop had outgrown the space and moved upstairs to another building.

In 2000, the family invested in a vacant space on Main Street which has become the home of The Button Hole. The newly expanded quilt shop soon became the anchor for three other downtown stores; The Hearth Room, Body & Soul, and the Health Food Market. In addition, The Upper Room was created for the perfect event or meeting place complete with two adjoining dining rooms, a private loft area, and a fully functional kitchen. With internet access and an overhead screen, The Upper Room is truly perfect for any event.

The Button Hole now stands as one of the largest of its kind in the United States. It is the shopping destination of not only a few visitors, but of tour buses full of eager shoppers. Business shows no signs of stopping, on the contrary, you will always find new products and services in these four McPherson shops.
